Winter Fashion
Winter fashion has arrived at Riverside Plaza. From runway to your way, your winter wardrobe can be found right here! Keep these key looks in mind and you'll be set to dazzle and shine this winter...
Star in ‘Hollywood Glamour’
Inspired by the glamour of Hollywood screen sirens, ‘Hollywood Glamour’ is the fashion direction for winter 2008 that has trail blazed the international catwalks from Paris to New York.
The look is surprisingly revealing, with cut-away detail, plunging necklines and revealing backs, a feature for cocktail and evening occasion dressing.
From short to long, day into evening, fabrics will be fluid, floaty and utterly feminine with colour a strong contrast against a palette of silver and gold metallic and the dramatic statement only black can make.
‘Hollywood Glamour’ is also a fashion theme that accommodates one of fashion’s most coveted classics – the Little Black Dress! Its welcome return is worn fitted or with a full skirt and is enhanced with feather trims, jewels and extravagant retro style accessories from shoes to jewellery capped off with slinky black full length gloves.
When the winter chill factor kicks in, shawls, faux fur and nipped in at the waist jackets warm the look.
Accessories see the return of large jewelled earrings, clutch style bags, statement piece necklaces and very high confident heels. Metallics are big across all accessory stories as are muted greys, charcoals and browns in the softest leathers, silks and raw hides and fur.
Shine in ‘Luscious Lustre’
This winter, everyone will be taking a shine to the look that’s best described as ‘shimmering’.
Fabrics are shot with metallic thread, studded with sequins and metal, fringed in gold, silver and gun metal and appliquéd with anything that shines.
Dresses will be the light of the party with this look. Bedecked and bedazzled in figure hugging designs to flatter and complement any body shape. The look can effectively be nipped in at the waist with a black patent belt. Other options include reverting to a classic ‘A’ line above or below the knee or putting it together with a pinch here and there to create optimal personal effect.
Jackets wrap up and add warmth to this look, long or short, padded or quilted but always flashy! The look is further tailored with slinky trousers that drape to a half boot.
Hair is slicked back for maximum effect or blow dried to a cutting edge with Versace overtones.
Heels will be worn high to ensure this look has ‘catwalk’ written all over it.
